The eduroam network is UNI's wifi network for current UNI students, faculty, and staff. Guests can access UNI's Guest WiFi network. Below are instructions to help you connect your device. If you have a wired device on the residential network, check out our instructions for connecting.

Windows
- Open the network icon in the lower-right corner of your screen. Find the eduroam SSID and choose it.
- You will see a prompt to connect. Make sure Connect automatically is checked and choose Connect.
- You will see a prompt to accept a security certificate and choose Connect.
- Enter your CatID username followed by @uni.edu. Example: tcpanther@uni.edu. Then enter your passphrase and choose OK.
MacOS
- Choose the wifi icon in the top-right of the screen and choose the eduroam network.
- You will be prompted to enter your CatID username followed by @uni.edu. Example: tcpanther@uni.edu. Then enter your passphrase and choose Join.
- You will be prompted to Accept the certificate for the wireless network. Please choose Continue.
Android
- Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on and open up the Wi-Fi networks. Tap on eduroam to connect.
- Please choose the following options:
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
- CA certificate: Use system certificates
- Minimum TLS version: TLS v1.0
- Online Certificate Status: Do not verify
- Domain: uni.edu
- Identity: catid@uni.edu
- Anonymous identity: catid@uni.edu
- Password: your passphrase for your catID
- Choose Connect
iOS
- Open up Settings and choose Wi-Fi.
- Enter your CatID username followed by @uni.edu. Example: CatID@uni.edu. Then enter your passphrase and choose Join.
- You will be prompted to Trust the certificate. The information listed will be:
- Name: wifi.uni.edu
- Issued by: InCommon
- Expires: 7/19/25
Other/Incompatible devices
To work on eduroam, devices must support WPA-Enterprise (not just WPA-Personal) encryption. Below is list of all the incompatible wireless devices on eduroam. Some of the below devices work through a wired connection on the ResNet network.

Still need help?
- Try Forgetting the eduroam network and then reconnecting.
- Make sure your CatID username and password are entered correctly. You can test this out on another device with internet access by logging into the myUNIverse portal.
- Devices should have their networking settings set to automatic.
- The date and time set correctly on your device.
To connect to eduroam, your device needs to be configured as follows-
Protocol Support: 802.11ac or 802.11n or 802.11ax
SSID: eduroam
Security: 802.1x using WPA-Enterprise
Authentication: PEAP or EAP-TLS
Tunneled Authentication: MS CHAP v2
Certificate: InCommon RSA Server CA
Encryption: AES
