CatID

Your Cat ID (login credentials) at the University of Northern Iowa consists of your username and your passphrase. Your username is a unique 3-8 character account name that identifies you as a member of the UNI community. Your username is a permanent and visible part of your UNI identity:

  • it's your unique identifier and/or login ID in many of UNI's online systems

Your username in conjunction with your password allow you access to various online resources and computers on campus. Use your Cat ID wherever you see the Cat ID logo (see above).  What is my Cat ID passphrase?

Your UNI username will be with you throughout your affiliation with UNI. If you graduate from UNI, then return later as an employee, you'll retain the same username.

See IT Recommended Passphrase Standards for further information about passphrases.

If you need help determining your username, contact the IT Service Desk at (319) 273-5555. The IT Service Desk is located in Room 36 ITTC Building (East Gym). Consultants are available to provide hands-on assistance daily Monday through Friday during University Business Hours.
