Zoom Phone

Zoom Phone is a new service that will be rolling out to campus in the next 6 months. Zoom Phone will completely replace the legacy Avaya phone system that campus has today with a familiar application interface the whole UNI campus is familiar with already. Zoom Phone will provide the voice service flexibility that UNI faculty and staff require, especially with the addition of flexible and hybrid work options across campus.

Zoom Phone will allow faculty and staff to receive and place calls, check voicemail, and send and receive text messages from anywhere they have an internet connection all while maintaining privacy by placing these calls with their UNI issued phone number. Zoom Phone is accessible via a desktop application, mobile application, and even a traditional physical phone.

Rollout Plan / Timing

Zoom Phone will begin rolling out to campus starting in mid April, 2022. Our goal is to have the vast majority of campus migrated to Zoom Phone by the end of the Summer 2022 but the full implementation will likely continue through the rest of the calendar year. Your departmental supervisors will be contacted when your department rollout is ready to begin. You will receive a notification with documentation a number of weeks before your department goes live to allow for sufficient preparation and training to take place.
