Beginning in May, 2016, official UNI sites built in Drupal will have enhanced security for any users with administrative access. Most users will use their CatID user name and password to log into their Drupal site. The log-in window will look the same, but will accept only CatID credentials. Since CatID for authentication is being used, the passphrase used to access Drupal sites will automatically change once a year when you change your CatID passphrase. Once CatID authentication is in place on a site, the regular Drupal log-in credentials will no longer work.
In a few instances, a Drupal log-in will be used, primarily for non-UNI employees with need to access a Drupal site on campus. For these few users, the requirements for Drupal passphrases have also been strengthened to match CatID authentication. The passphrase must be at least 15 characters long (maximum is 30) and may contain both uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, symbols, and spaces. While there are no specific requirements for different types of characters to be used, a combination of characters is recommended, such as "my 3rd car was a T-bird" or “I love my passphrase”. How do I change my CatID passphrase (password)?
Go to the change passphrase utility (Note: the login screen will appear) and enter your login and current passphrase. Select a new passphrase and enter it again to verify that you have typed it correctly. See the passphrase requirements for a complete listing or rules.
I've forgotten my passphrase (password). Now what do I do?
If you can't remember your CatID passphrase (password), you will need to contact the IT Service Desk to request your passphrase be reset.
