October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. For 2020, the security office is trying something different to give you a chance to be involved and hopefully learn some things at the same time. Throughout the month, questions related to UNI, information technology, and cyber security will be posted here. You can think of it as a scavenger hunt! Most will be multiple choice questions so you won't have to develop an answer from scratch. Each question will also have an option to identify your answer with your email address. At the end of the month, a prize(s) will be awarded to the top scorer(s), so remember to take credit for your answers throughout the month.
There won't be a question every day but there will up to four questions each week so be sure to check back here often. Also, questions will fall off the list so check in at least a couple times per week.
Thank you for participating in last month's National Cyber Security Awareness quizzes. There were over 400 individuals that self-identified as participants throughout the month and several of those stood out.
We have two winners, both of which answered all 17 questions correctly:
- Chris Kremer, Gallagher-Bluedorn
- Paul Shand, Physics
and four runners-up, answering 16 questions correctly:
- Gregory Bruess, CSBS
- Katy McGlaughlin, Theatre
- Yicheng "Harris" Pan, undergrad Computer Science major
- Ashley Rasmussen, Social Work
Congratulations to all! Whether you got lots of correct answers or only a few, the hope is that you learned some things about security awareness.
