The UNI Voicemail System keeps voicemail messages of different types for different periods of time. As of Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017, the voicemail message retention periods will look like this: Unread messages (i.e. you have not yet listened to this message) - 120 days Read messages (i.e. messages you have listened to and decided to keep) - 60 days Sent messages (i.e. messages you received and forwarded to another voicemail box) - 60 days Deleted messages (i.e. messages you have or have not listened to and deleted) - 30 days

Academic departments can request a group to communicate to students of a particular major or minor.  Use of these groups should be restricted to a small set of people usually designated by the Department Head.  Once created, the groups are updated nightly using data from the SIS. Your CatID grants you access to many systems and services while you are attending classes at or employed by the University of Northern Iowa. Some examples include: Your UNI Google Account (Gmail, calendar, Drive, etc) MyUNIverse portal  Oracle eBusiness Suite (eBiz) Lynda.com online video training When you graduate or otherwise leave UNI (employment ends, transfer to another institution, etc) your access to services will end. UNI offers voicemail service as part of a standard phone service package. When a phone extension is first assigned to a UNI faculty or staff member, a voice mailbox is created. This voicemail system can be managed via the telephone user interface or website. The website is located at https://voicemail.uni.edu/. The website can be accessed using a CatID. The system is also configured to send an email containing a link to voicemail audio. Individual voicemails can also be accessed through the website. Students that graduate from UNI are eligible to use a tool called Google Takeout to easily make a back up of or migrate their account data to a different Gmail account while their current UNI account is still active. You can find instructions on how to use Google Takeout in Google's support documentation. If you run into an error message transferring content, you may need to use a private web browser session.
