Installing Citrix Workspace on your UNI Managed Windows Device
Search your computer for Software Center
Launch Software Center
On the Applications tab, look for Citrix Workspace and select it
Press the Purple Install button
Once it installs, search for Citrix Workspace on your device and launch it
When installing Workspace if prompted to Enable Single Sign-on do not enable that option
Add the account vdi.uni.edu
Depending on what you have access to navigate to Apps or Desktops tab.

Duo is UNI's multi-factor authentication system used to protect accounts. Duo is currently integrated with Citrix to protect access to the Citrix Workspace.
There are a few factors if you will need to authenticate with Duo to gain access to your Workspace desktop or application, they are:
Duo Enrollment
Currently, all faculty and staff are enrolled in Duo.
Not all students are enrolled in Duo. If you are not enrolled, you won't need to authenticate with Duo.

Once you log out of the Citrix environment, the computer is reset, so any documents you saved locally to the virtual desktop will be lost. It is very important to make sure you understand where you are saving when in the Citrix environment.
Here are a few different methods you can use to save.
Use Google Drive File Stream
Once you are logged into the computer, search for Drive File Stream and launch it.
Enter your full email address and press next.
You will be redirected to sign in with your CatID and Passphrase, enter it and then press Login.

Can I install any of these applications on my local machine instead?
Yes, and we encourage you to do so! This helps with Citrix licensing numbers and also makes it so you will not have to run the applications from the Internet. Here are a list of applications we are aware of:

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) has added InCommon as a provider of Certificates and Digital Signatures. Due to this, UNI is required to provide notice of the binding of Relying Parties to InCommon's Relying Party Agreement. A Relying Party encompasses any entity that relies on a Certificate or Digital Signature provided by InCommon. The Relying Party Agreement may be viewed online at www.incommon.org/cert/repository.
