  Note: An updated version of this article can be found in Service Hub.   When possible it's preferred to use Remote Desktop instead of VPN.  If you have an IT role, VPN should only be used from a UNI managed laptop. Others especially those accessing level 3 data, should be aware that level data cannot be stored on a personal computer.  Connecting to the VPN allows access to on-campus network resources that are otherwise not available from off-campus. Citrix Workspace Requires OS X 10.13 High Sierra or later Many Mac users have encountered the "Citrix Workspace Requires OS X 10.13 High Sierra or later" message when trying to install the Citrix Workspace App on an Apple device.  If you receive this error, you need to upgrade your MacOS as it is on a version older than 10.13. When you log out of the Citrix environment, the computer is reset, so any documents you saved locally to the virtual desktop will be lost. It is very important to make sure you understand where you are saving when in the Citrix environment.  To save from a Chromebook: 1. On March 19th, 2020, The University of Northern Iowa received additional licensing assistance from Adobe that will allow students currently enrolled at the university to install Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) applications on their personally-owned devices. It is important to note that this license is only valid until May 31st, 2020. At that time, your access to Adobe Creative Cloud applications will expire and if you want to continue using it on your own device, you'll need to purchase a license directly from Adobe. Typically a voicemail is configured to send email notifications, but if for some reason this setting is not enabled or you wish to change it you can do so by logging into the UNI Voicemail web portal. To log in go to https://voicemail.uni.edu and choose Web Access. You will be redirected to authenticate to your UNI email account through the Google signin form.  Once logged in choose Message Forwarding. Assistance from Information Technology will be required to setup the one-X communicator. Use of a VPN is required to make this software functional. This software does not work over Remote Desktop. Occasionally a reset of the Citrix Workspace is needed to fix issues with applications or desktops not appearing in Citrix Workspace.
