Occasionally a reset of the Citrix Workspace is needed to fix issues with applications or desktops not appearing in Citrix Workspace.
Procedure to reset on Windows OS:
In the lower right corner, near the clock, select the up arrow.
Right-click on the Citrix Workspace icon
Select Advanced Preferences
Click on Reset Citrix Workspace and respond Yes when prompted to confirm your choice
After resetting you will need to add an account again, Enter vdi.uni.edu for the account

Installing Citrix Workspace and Connecting to the Virtual Desktop and Applications environment
Below are steps that will guide you through connecting to VDI in order to access applications and desktops.
The Citrix Workspace application must be installed in order to access applications or desktops. Workspace is free and may be obtained directly from Citrix.

How To Find a MAC Address of Common Devices
Below are instructions on finding the MAC address of common devices that might connect to UNI's Smart Devices Network.
Amazon
Amazon Echo
Download the Amazon Alexa app to your phone or computer from the app store.
Sign in with your Amazon account.
On your phone connect to the wireless network transmitted by your Echo device.
The wireless MAC address for your Echo can be found at the bottom of the Echo Setup screen in the Alexa app.
Fire Stick
From the Amazon app, visit the Home screen.
Choose Settings.

UNI Smart Devices Network
UNI Smart Devices is a new WiFi network at UNI. This network will enable devices like smart TVs, gaming stations and other special purpose systems. It’s intended on for devices that can’t connect the eduroam network with a username and password. Laptops and other devices that support 802.1x authentication should use eduroam, because it is secure and has fewer controls. Devices like laptops and tablets will not work on UNI smart Devices.

The Links pagelet in Portal Workspaces, which displays reports, is temporarily unavailable due to a required upgrade to portal technology components. This will be addressed as quickly as possible. In the meantime to view reports in your workspace please do the following:
After logging in to MyUNIverse navigate to the My Workspaces pagelet, then click the workspace you would like to view.
Once you are in your workspace click Links in the Menu section on the left side of the page:
On the Links page, click into the folders/reports to view:

Connecting your wired device on ResNet can be done in two easy steps. First, connect your device to a wired data jack in your room. Then, register it for access.

The first step to connecting is to connect to the data jack in your room. This varies based on your hall location. Plug your Ethernet cord into your Data port and then into your device.

The eduroam network is UNI's wifi network for current UNI students, faculty, and staff. Guests can access UNI's Guest WiFi network. Below are instructions to help you connect your device. If you have a wired device on the residential network, check out our instructions for connecting.
Windows
Open the network icon in the lower-right corner of your screen. Find the eduroam SSID and choose it.
You will see a prompt to connect. Make sure Connect automatically is checked and choose Connect.
You will see a prompt to accept a security certificate and choose Connect.

If closed captions are needed for an accommodation for a student with a disability, please contact Student Accessibility Services.
You can either create your own automatically generated YouTube captions and correct them, or, if you have a public-facing video, request closed captions from IT. If you want IT to create closed captions, fill out a Service Hub request. We will ask you for the video file so we can create the closed captions.
