This past July, Information Technology Services successfully migrated campus to the new UNI Voicemail system. Since the transition, we’ve noticed a few issues:
- Deleting the voicemail notification email from your inbox will also delete the corresponding voice message from the UNI Voicemail system without the ability to recover it.
- Deleting the voicemail notification email from your inbox will also turn off the message indicator light on your desk phone.
- Voicemail notification emails contained an audio file attachment that was unable to be played and would result in an error message if one tried to listen to it.
- Some voicemail notification emails were being marked as SPAM by Google resulting in the deletion of the corresponding voice message in the Voicemail system.
On January 22nd, Information Technology Services will make modifications to the UNI Voicemail system that will correct these issues for all campus voicemail boxes.
What does this mean for you?
Starting on January 22nd after the successful implementation of the modifications planned by ITS, the email notifications for new voice messages will look slightly different. They will not have the empty attachments and your message indicator light will no longer shut off if you read your email notifications.
