On Wednesday, August 2nd, Information Technology will be updating the certificate used to secure student and employee connections to the WiFi-UNI and eduroam wireless networks. This change will occur at 6:00AM that Wednesday morning. This change is required to update the security certificate in order to ensure our WiFi network remains secure.
After the change, some devices could experience an interruption in service until the new security certificate is accepted. This interruption will look different depending on the type of device you have.
iOS (iPhones and iPads) Devices
Your iOS device will pop up a settings screen asking you to trust the new WiFi certificate. Verify that the certificate is from UNI by ensuring the server looks similar to the screen shot below (the number after wifi might be different). If it looks good, click Trust.
Windows 8.1/10 Computers
In Windows 10, you'll receive a notification from the WiFi and networks screen. Ensure the network name that is listed is for WiFi-UNI or for eduroam. Click Continue.
Mac OS X or MacOS Sierra Computers
In Mac OS X or MacOS Sierra you'll receive a system message asking you to trust the new certificate. First verify that the server listed is a UNI server. Note: the number following wifi might be different on your computer, but it should still end in uni.edu. If it looks right, click Continue.
