Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Enrollment for New Students

Welcome, new students, to UNI! Part of what Information Technology provides to protect your CatID account and your information is multi-factor authentication in the form of a Duo account. Duo typically uses a push notification to a free app on your phone that allows you to verify that you are the one trying to access your account. There are alternatives to the smart phone app and the Service Desk can provide information about them, but over 90% of UNI users have a phone as their registered Duo device.

Enrolling in Duo is easy and can be done completely on your own by visiting https://mfa.uni.edu/enroll at any time. Just login with your CatID and follow the on-screen directions. The process will take less than five minutes.

If you choose to not self-enroll with the above link, your CatID will be provisioned for Duo on the early morning of Tuesday, August 26th. The next time you login after provisioning will lead you through the enrollment process at that time. We strongly suggest that you self-enroll at a convenient time for you as described in above.
