Academic Google Groups by Major/Minor

Academic departments can request a group to communicate to students of a particular major or minor.  Use of these groups should be restricted to a small set of people usually designated by the Department Head.  Once created, the groups are updated nightly using data from the SIS.

The group names are based upon the 3-character codes assigned by the Registrar's office.   To request a major/minor group email the following:

  • 3-character major/minor code
  • The specific SIS plan codes to be used as criteria when adding students
  • Short list of faculty/staff that should be allowed to email the group
